New Health and Safety Policies

What to know before your next visit (1)

SANITIZING

  1. Patients and physicians are required to wash their hands before and after exams.
  2. Patient may wear gloves but we ask that a new pair of gloves be worn upon entering the office to avoid any outside contaminants.
  3. We have installed protective shields on a majority of our eye care equipment for extra precaution against the exchange of contaminants through the air between staff and patients.
  4. Staff will be sanitizing every contact area before and after each patient. This includes, but is not limited to: applicable chairs, door handles, pens, clipboards, desk surfaces, faucet handles, eyeglass frames, screening tools, and exam testing equipment. Any item touched by a patient should be immediately given to a staff member for sanitization when finished using.
  5. We will be using the following for sanitizing: Lysol Wipes, Hand Sanitizer, Lysol Spray, Alcohol wipes, Alcohol spray, UV cabinet on a 15 minute cycle and UV wand.

MASKS/SHIELDS

  1. We ask that you come to your appointment wearing a mask.
  2. All patients older than 5 years of age will be required to wear masks in the office to reduce droplet emission. If you do not have a mask, our office has some available for purchase.
  3. Staff will be wearing protective shields when in the showroom accompanying patients searching for eyewear. If a patient would like to wear a protective shield on top of their mask, we have extras to supply which will be disinfected using UV radiation after the patient leaves.
  4. Despite the temporary discomfort, we encourage the use of masks to protect each other. Our staff, patients and their families appreciate your thoughtfulness and cooperation.

SCREENING

  1. Our office is dedicated to screening both our staff and patients for COVID-19 related risk factors to maximize health and safety.
    • Doctors and staff will have their temperature taken at the beginning of the day and halfway through their shift.
    • Patients will have their temperature taken at the door. If a patient’s temperature is over 100°F they will be asked to reschedule their appointment for two weeks after the fever dissipates.
    • If a patient answer yes to any of the screening questions they will be asked to reschedule their appointment for 30 days out.
